1. Who we are

Noland Studios Ltd is the data controller for personal information we handle through www.noland-studios.com and correspondence with the studio. We also operate the Discord application Argentum Online (Application ID: 1385553291391271024). This notice covers the website, correspondence and the application’s current Game Identity functionality, not separate game servers or community services.

2. Website visits and hosting

Our website consists of static Astro pages hosted by IONOS. The website code has no application database, contact form, advertising, tracking scripts or third-party analytics, and sets no cookies or browser storage. Images are served locally and fonts are supplied by your device.

Your IP address is transmitted to IONOS when your browser requests a page. Hosting access logs can include the requested page or file, access time, referring page, browser, operating system and device type. IONOS’s Web Hosting documentation describes anonymising visitors’ IP addresses and using request information for security and reliable operation.

Hosting can also include provider-managed usage statistics. IONOS describes log-based statistical reporting in its SiteAnalytics documentation. We have not added an analytics pixel or tracking service. The absence of those scripts does not mean that IONOS performs no logging or statistics. Our purposes for hosting information are delivering and protecting the website and understanding its aggregate use, based on our legitimate interests in maintaining a useful, reliable studio website.

3. Email correspondence

When you email info@noland-studios.com, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you send. We use these to respond to enquiries and manage the resulting correspondence, based on our legitimate interests in communicating with you. Where necessary to meet our data protection obligations, we process privacy requests on the basis of legal obligation. Please do not send passwords, access tokens or unnecessary sensitive information.

4. Service providers and retention

Information is handled by the studio and service providers needed to deliver these services: IONOS for hosting, and providers that deliver and store email for correspondence. Information may also need to be disclosed where required by law.

Hosting records are retained under IONOS’s applicable service arrangements for operational, security and statistical purposes. For correspondence, our retention criteria are the time needed to handle the enquiry and relevant follow-up, meet legal obligations, or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. The nature of the enquiry and any continuing obligations determine how long the information is needed; there is no single retention period for every message.

5. Argentum Online on Discord

Our application currently provides Game Identity, associating Argentum Online with its game identity on Discord. It does not send live player activity through Rich Presence, which is planned but not implemented. There is no implemented bot, OAuth login or account-linking feature, so these features do not collect messages, login tokens or linked game accounts for us.

Discord handles information about use of its service under its own Privacy Policy. We will review this notice before introducing an integration that changes our data handling. Following links to Discord, Steam or other external websites brings you under those services’ separate privacy practices.

6. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you may have rights to access and correct your personal information, request its erasure, restrict processing, and receive a portable copy. These rights depend on the circumstances and legal basis for the processing.

You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, on grounds relating to your particular situation.

7. Changes to this policy

We will publish updates on this page and revise the effective date. For material changes, we will also post a prominent notice on the website explaining what has changed. Please contact us with any questions.
